Here are what the strategies look like: Re-read is when you find a word, phrase, or paragraph to read again. Find Meaning is when you use a dictionary, discover the author's perspective, ask questions, look for context clues, or use the index/glossary of the text. Use the Pause & Think strategy to find what you already know, use previous knowledge, make a prediction/inference, summarize or re-tell the story, or ask yourself, "What did I just read?" Reflect and Connect to find a purpose for reading (inform, persuade, or entertain) and then to connect these ideas to yourself (text to text, text to self, text to world).
